Pre-K CLUE Comes to Grahamwood Elementary School!
Beginning this school year, Grahamwood Elementary is proud to announce that it has added Pre-Kindergarten CLUE classes to its list of academic options. We are excited to have Janis Pankey, a much heralded Shelby County Schools Pre-K teacher, join our faculty to head up this endeavor. “I already have 32 students in my program and I expect this number will increase as more parents learn about it,” states Pankey. Children qualify for Pre-K CLUE by testing in as state qualified gifted students.
These students meet at Grahamwood Elementary twice a week for a total of 5 hours of advanced academic instruction and discovery learning designed to challenge their gifted abilities. “Pre-K CLUE is a remarkable program,” says Robyn Maxwell, a mother of two Pre-K CLUE graduates. “My children loved going and couldn’t wait for Pre-K CLUE days. It got them off to a great start that positively impacts them to this day. They are both honor students and my son is taking AP classes at White Station High School.”
We are thrilled to offer Pre-K CLUE at Grahamwood and to have such a talented educator as Janis Pankey leading this program. If you are interested in finding out more or applying for Pre-K CLUE, please contact Dr. Tommie Yelvington at 901.416.0155.
