ESL Program Kick-Off

A new Before-School program will provide academic assistance for ESL students. The ESL Partnership pilot program, spearheaded by Mrs. Hutchinson and Mr. Emerson, will initially focus on reading help for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students. Each morning, teacher, parent and student volunteers will spend 30 minutes of hands-on time with the students.

The program leaders are now seeking volunteer participation from parents, older Grahamwood students, and from partner schools who are willing to commit to 30 minutes in the morning before school starts.

Grahamwood’s program is currently in the planning stages, but will implement soon, structured based on success modeled at other benchmark ESL programs in other cities.
